Our approach to discipleship is rooted in the belief that through Christ, boys can become leaders of unwavering character who embody empathy, integrity, and a dedication to positive change.
Our discipleship approach goes beyond the individual boys; it reaches out to embrace their families as well. We understand that the journey of faith and growth is interconnected, encompassing both the boys and their guardians. Through this pillar, we aim to create a space for spiritual growth and authentic relationship-building for Kkumi project families as well.
Through this pillar, we hope to build a foundation of faith that focuses on equipping the boys and their families with the tools to embrace a faith that is alive, actionable, and transformative.
Economic Empowerment:
Catalyzing Sustainable Change
At the Kkumi Project, we recognize that sustainable transformation involves not only nurturing hearts and minds but also empowering families economically. Welcome to our Economic Empowerment pillar—a commitment to equipping families with the tools and opportunities they need to break free from the chains of poverty and create a better future. Economic empowerment is more than just providing financial resources; it's about offering families the means to secure their own future. Through skill-building, training, and access to opportunities, we're empowering families to pave their own pathways to financial independence.
In Uganda, poverty often becomes a cycle that's hard to break. Through our upcoming Economic Empowerment programs, we'll be addressing this challenge head-on. By providing families with the knowledge and resources to generate sustainable income, we'll be disrupting the cycle of poverty and offering a chance for a brighter tomorrow.

A Shift in Perspective
The journey of transformation often leads us to reevaluate our methods and embrace new paths. At the Kkumi Project, this realization came through an evolving understanding of the critical role that families play in nurturing a child's growth and potential. We've realized that children deserve to grow up in the loving embrace of a family, rather than institutions. Shockingly, most children in institutionalized care have families, often separated due to financial poverty. Our focus has thus shifted towards empowering families, promoting their dignity, and igniting hope for a future beyond poverty's grasp.
Did you know that 80% of children in orphanages have families? Often, separation is a result of financial struggles, not a lack of love. Our focus is on identifying and addressing these challenges, with the goal of keeping families together. We firmly believe that nothing is more significant to a child's development than the love of a family—a sense of belonging that provides lifelong hope and a rooted identity.
Personalized Education:

Kkumi Project believes that education is the key that has the power to unlock a child's future potential. We recognize that education not only transforms the lives of individual boys but also holds the potential to uplift entire communities. Our approach is rooted in the understanding that each boy possesses unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations.
We are committed to providing each boy under our care with a tailored educational journey that empowers them to excel and realize their fullest capabilities.
